Blending a Husband-Wife Ministry, The Fabric of a Woman, Investing in a Christian Life, and A Wife’s Prayer.

Dominion Fellowship has attracted a variety of ministry couples from all walks of life, nationalities, races, and denominations. She appears frequently on television and radio broadcasts, and is a frequent speaker and teacher to women’s groups. The mother of two sons, Pamela’s earnest desire is to help the body of Christ walk in the knowledge and authority that God has given to them and to strengthen its members through the ministry of God’s Word. ***Book: The Fabric Of A Woman...

When was the last time you invested in you? When was the last time you were alone with God, allowing your spirit, mind, body, and emotions to be repaired and restored? Author Pamela Hines believes that it is possible to be better at forty than you were at thirty, and better at sixty than you were at fifty. Failing to invest in you, however, can cause just the opposite to take place. Instead of looking vivacious and graceful at fifty, you look rundown and forlorn. God wants His life to permeate your life. He doesn't want the circumstances of life to overwhelm you and thus steal from you His joy, peace, and rest. With the help provided in this book, you will: Control your emotions rather than letting them control you. Develop a more positive outlook on life. Enjoy a more dynamic prayer life. Judge yourself through Gods eyes instead of the eyes of others. Be better able to extend love and forgiveness to friends and family. Transform your negative thoughts. Experience breakthroughs in diet and exercise. Help other women with their self-images. Radiate Gods glory in your spirit, soul, and body. God has placed within you everything you will ever need to be a success but it is up to you to utilize those things. Todays woman needs to invest in herself in order to accomplish the multifaceted tasks set before her. Life may tear at the fabric of our lives, but when we choose to invest in ourselves, the mending doesn't take long.

What Others are Saying About... The Fabric of a Woman

"As you read The Fabric of a Woman, I pray that every fiber of you, as a woman, will be changed. You will learn to take authority over negative thoughts and ungodly appetites, as well as how to pray effectively to get results. Too many saints get caught up in their own bondage. Pamela will help to bring you out. She will take you back to the basics of loving and obeying God’s commandments and loving your neighbor as yourself. Shereally brings it home"... Shirley T. Gooding, Mother of Cuba Gooding Jr., Academy Award-Winning Actor

"I absolutely love Pastor Pamela Hines! She has blessed me and my marriage through her book which was used as a guide for a wives’ Bible study that I’m involved in. She also served as a keynote speaker for my retreat, where women were touched and inspired by her message on prayer. It was life-changing!"...  Pat Smith, wife of former NFL star Emmitt Smith

"Pastor Pam has been such a light in my life - she has taught me many things that I never experienced growing up. One thing that stands out above all else is her compassion and heart for God’s people. I was never a person who cared that much about anything or anyone. But I have learned, through watching her and through praying, that our goal on this earth is to be like God. Pastor Pam’s heart and personality are like none other. I strive every day to have a heart like hers - a heart that is close to God’s"... Nina Hines, daughter-in-law of Pamela Hines

HOST: SHIRLEY W. MITCHELL, National Author/Writer/Columnist/Speaker

GUEST: ELEANOR GUSTAFSON, Author & Speaker

TOPIC: AN EPIC STORY OF HISTORY

EPISODE DESCRIPTION: This week Host Shirley W. Mitchell will be joined by her "Guest", as they discuss An Epic Story of History" with... The Life of King David, The Stones,  Bridging Historical Reality, and Understanding Grace, Mercy, and Love.

GUEST: Eleanor K. Gustafson has been publishing both fiction and nonfiction since 1978. Her short stories and articles appeared in a number of national and local magazines. "The Stones" is her fourth novel. In many of her stories, Eleanor explores the cosmic struggle between good and evil in light of God’s overarching work of redemption. A graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois, she has been actively involved in church life as a minister’s wife, teacher, musician, writer, and encourager. She has enjoyed a variety of experiences, from riding horses to building houses, all of which have helped bring color and humor to her fiction. She and her husband live in Massachusetts, where he teaches philosophy. They travel extensively, spend time with their three children and eight grandchildren, and enjoy camping at the family forest in Chester, Vermont. I started writing stories rather late in life, though at age seven or eight I was crafting them in my mind. After reading an exciting book, I felt compelled to “finish the story” and would go off into woods and fields to live for a time with those particular characters. Marriage and babies formed a parenthesis in this process, but once past diapers, the old urge returned. My first efforts at writing prompted at least two people to advise me to stick to music. The drive persisted, though, and my first essay was accepted for publication in 1978. With a few more such successes, I took a big breath and decided to try a novel. Appalachian Spring came out in 1987 and was loosely based on one of my earlier writing experiments. That book was well received, so the next challenge was crafting one from scratch. I knew gardening, I knew tree farming, I knew the Bible, and these became threads with which I wove Wild Harvest.  My son Lee, who had grown up cutting and bucking and skidding logs on our Vermont acreage, read it and said, “It’s really weird to see yourself in the pages of a novel!” Middle Night was a horse of a different color. Hardly anyone liked it, but I believed in it enough to self-publish. It is dark and grim in many ways but is a powerful dramatization of sin and redemption and grace—all without any religious terminology. I even made up a pre-industrial world to exclude known religions. My life has been full and rich, a grand mix of tears and laughter. God has been kind and gentle with me from before I can remember. The gift of writing is just one of many opportunities he has given me to reflect his glory and to bring a ray of light into other people’s lives. By his grace I am indeed like “a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season.” (Psalm 1:3)

***Book: The Stones...

A hot-blooded drama - a biblical novel that takes in the sweep of King David’s life from his encounter with Goliath to the devastating consequences of counting his fighting men. He is a man of titanic proportions, at once commanding, poetic, earthy, in touch with God. Fictional in scope, yet with intentional scriptural accuracy, The Stones provides a revealing behind-the-scenes glimpse into biblical history with all the twists, turns, thrills, and romance of one of the world’s greatest dramas. In the story, stones themselves serve as a metaphor that fits well with the contours of David’s life: stones of learning, of victory, of stumbling, of humbling, of hardship, of grief, of sacrifice.

GUEST: SHARLENE MACLAREN, Author & Speaker

TOPIC: WRITING IN THE ROMANCE OF LIFE

EPISODE DESCRIPTION: This week Host Shirley W. Mitchell will be joined by her "Guest", Sharlene MacLaren, Author & Speaker, and the Author of the Romance B ook"Maggie Rose" as they discuss "Writing in the Romance of Life" with... Pursuit of a Calling, Maggie Rose, and Apples of Gold.

GUEST: Born and raised in west Michigan, Sharlene MacLaren attended Spring Arbor University. Upon graduating with an education degree, she traveled internationally for a year with a small singing ensemble, then came home and married one of her childhood friends. Together they raised two lovely, wonderful daughters, both of whom are happily married and enjoying their own families. Retired in 2003 from 31 years of teaching, Sharlene loves to read, sing in the church choir and worship team, travel, and spend time with her family, in particular, her wonderful, adorable grandchildren, Dylan, Alexis, and Gavin. A Christian for forty+ years, and a lover of the English language, Sharlene has always enjoyed dabbling in writing - poetry, fiction, various essays, and freelancing for periodicals and newspapers. Her favored genre, however, has always been romance. She remembers well the short stories she wrote in high school and watching them circulate from girl to girl during government and civics classes. “Psst,” someone would whisper from two rows over, and always with the teacher’s back to the class, “Pass me the next page.” Sharlene MacLaren is an occasional speaker for her local MOPS organization; is involved in "Kids’ Hope USA" - a mentoring program for at-risk children; counsels young women in the Apples of Gold program, and is active in two weekly Bible studies. She and her husband, Cecil, live in Spring Lake, Michigan with their lovable collie, Dakota, and Mocha, their lazy, fat cat.
