Season Three - March 2006 - This is the Fourth and last page of the Show Material that we had for Season Three of Aging Outside the Box - Fabulous Women Over 50 on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel. We are dedicating this space to that Show Material for each of the Special Guests that appeared on the Programs. The Show was heard LIVE at 8am-PST, 9am-MST, 10am-CST, 11am-EST, 12noon-AST, and was then Re-Broadcast at 8PM-PST, 9AM-MST, 10PM-CST, 11PM-EST, 12MIDNIGHT-AST, and also on Saturdays from 3-6PM-PST and again on Sundays from 3-6PM-PST. This also starts the first page of Program Material for Season Four which starts on March 15, 2006.

GUEST: David Alan Smith is President/Publisher of Alabama ALIVE magazine, Booksmith Publications, LLC. & Alabama Custom Publishing. A Hoover resident for 13 years, David previously was employed as V.P. of Marketing and Sales at Custom Advertising Displays. During his 15 years there, he was responsible for national accounts including Keebler, Frito Lay, Siemens, Flowers Baking and Snapper. Two years ago, after three years of marketing research, he formed Booksmith Publications, LLC, and Alabama ALIVE magazine. Alabama ALIVE is the exclusive, lifestyle publication for the state of Alabama focusing on the people, tourism, natural resources, small business and the small towns of Alabama. In the past year, a new division of Alabama ALIVE was created, Alabama Custom Publishing, designed to assist in marketing Alabama towns to tourists, new businesses and prospective residents. David is married to editor/art director, Lori Smith, and they have three children: Shaye, Austin and Savannah. Shaye (a senior) and Austin (a sophomore) attend Spain Park High School, and Savannah attends Riverchase Elementary School. David serves on the Board of Directors for the Spain Park High School Band, is a past president of the Lady Jags Booster Club, a former scout leader of Boy Scout Troop 367, and has taught Sunday School at Shades Mountain Baptist Church for 15 years. The past two years, David has become a sought-after speaker presenting his concept regarding the state of Alabama to Rotary Clubs, Civitan groups and various organizations.
Lori Leath Smith has worked in the publishing industry for 22 years and has been a Hoover resident for 13 years. She is currently the editor and art director of Alabama ALIVE magazine and an editor and art director for Alabama Custom Publishing. In addition, she is art director/production manager for Southern Business & Development magazine, EHR Publishing, Mike Randle, a magazine designed to bring economic business to the South. For the past 18 years, she has also maintained her own company, Lori Smith Design, a freelance, graphic design company specializing in the editing and design of ads, books and book jackets, logos, corporate brochures and annual reports, newsletters and magazines. She has worked as the art director/production manager/editor of World Olympian Magazine, an international monthly publication and has served as assistant designer/production manager for Lindy's football and basketball annuals. She has also been responsible for the re-design of at least two magazines, Utility Products Showcase (TKM Communications) and Pumps & Systems (Cahaba Media Group) that became very successful by the end of two years. Smith has designed, edited and laid out numerous books for local and out-of-state publishers, including book covers/jackets, and has produced/designed several corporate newsletters, media guides/kits, directories, marketing brochures and additional one-time projects-most recently a 338-page football program for Spain Park High School, a football book written by Charlie Stubbs, former BYU and alabama coach, and an Auburn University football book in the Crimson Classics series. After graduation from Auburn University, Smith landed a job as assistant editor for two publications designed to sell advertising in Southern Living magazine-$outhern $upermarketing and Southern Living Destinations in the Advertising Department at Southern Progress Corporation (Southern Living magazine). After a few months, she moved internally to the newly created Public Relations Department where she worked as editor of SPC's in house magazine, Southword, gathering employee news and special interest information, working with photographers propping and setting up photographs, as well as editing and laying out publications, as tour guide for the company, as a member of the Public Affairs Committee, as a press release writer, and helping to coordinate company events. Lori is married to ACP Publisher, David Smith, and they have three children: Shaye, Austin and Savannah. Shaye (a senior) and Austin (a sophomore) attend Spain Park High School, and Savannah attends Riverchase Elementary School.
