Mitchell will be joined by her "Guest", Cindy Bauer, and Author and Writer as they discuss "Motivations - Diamonds of Success" with... Life Goals-Encasing the Dreams, Challenges of Writing and Publishing, One's Trilogy: Chasing Memories-Shades of Blue-Crystal Clear. and The Foundation of Experience. GUEST: Cindy (Cassman) Bauer was born in Davenport, IA where she grew up the youngest of three children. During her childhood, she was an avid reader and had always dreamed of becoming a writer. Marriage, career changes and relocation filled her time and she left her dream behind. After gaining employment with her small town newspaper in 2003, Cindy's dream to write resurfaced and with encouragement from her husband and sister, Cindy wrote Chasing Memories, the first book in a planned trilogy, with publication of Shades of Blue expected later this year. Debra LaVelle, her sister and a former journalism teacher, volunteered to be her editor. Cindy graduated from Assumption High School in 1975 and married her husband Robert in 1976. They moved to Missouri in 1986 when her mother became terminally ill. They decided to stay and make it their home and still reside there with their dog, Shadow. Cindy has one sister and one brother. Her father served active duty in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War and reserve duty during Vietnam. He is retired now after more than twenty years of service to our great country and still resides in Missouri. Her mother was a professional seamstress and passed away in 1988. Her mother's favorite flower was the "yellow rose" and in her memory, Cindy designed this website's logo with a "yellow rose". This is not the first time Cindy's work has been published. She has written a couple of news stories which merited front-page placement with the newspaper where she is employed. Also, she has contributed her own recipes for the newspaper's weekly recipe page and some fun short stories for the yearly April Fool's editions. After this trilogy, Cindy plans to write some mystery/suspense novels and possibly some children's books. She loves spending time with her husband and pets and also enjoys cooking, reading, writing and gardening. Cindy has done some volunteer work for her local food pantry and has also donated to the "Locks of Love" foundation, an organization that helps children undergoing cancer therapy.
